HISTORY & LEADERSHIP

Chad Green Motorsports is a Midland, Texas drag racing organization competing in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series. The team grew out of Chad Green’s years in the sportsman and Pro Mod ranks into a full-time Nitro Funny Car operation, and has since expanded into a multi-car program run by Chad and his son, Hunter Green.

HOW WE GOT HERE

2020
A breakthrough year
After years in Top Sportsman and Pro Mod, Chad made his NHRA Funny Car debut — the season that marked the turn from his Pro Mod career toward the nitro category.
2022
Full-time Funny Car competition
Following select Funny Car appearances in 2020 and 2021, Chad committed to a full NHRA Funny Car schedule. The team steadily developed the personnel, equipment and experience required to compete against the sport’s established organizations.
2023
A defining season, and a family milestone
The 2023 season became a defining chapter for the program — and it closed with father and son on the winner’s stage at the same event.
2024–2025
Building a multi-car program
As the Funny Car program matured, CGM invested in additional equipment, personnel and infrastructure. In 2025 the organization expanded into a second Funny Car operation, and Hunter moved from Top Alcohol Dragster into Nitro Funny Car, making his professional debut that season.
2025–2026
A father-son nitro Funny Car team
Chad ran the full schedule across both seasons. Hunter entered his second Funny Car season in 2026, a year after making his nitro debut.

Where the team stands
Chad Green Motorsports is a family-owned professional race team competing in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series. Chad runs the full Funny Car schedule and Hunter competes alongside him on a select schedule, combining decades of racing experience with a growing program — and a father-son story that is genuinely the team’s own.
